3. chmod +x keygen
4. ./keygen

That will have work KEY, just paste it to the Fusion. It's work fine for me.

Sorry for being noobish! I typed that in the terminal and the following happened:

chmod +x/Users/username/Downloads/vf4.0.1/keymaker
usage: chmod [-fhv] [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-a | +a | =a [i][# [ n]]] mode|entry file ...
chmod [-fhv] [-R [-H | -L | -P]] [-E | -C | -N | -i | -I] file ...

so obviously sth happened. but whenever I open vmware it still asks for a serial.

EDIT: got it. double clicking the keymaker after what I did above did the trick. I was then presented the serial.
