Highlights of the new release include:

• Multicore-support for various modules like Isosurface, SurfaceGen, Arithmetic, Resample, and nearly all image filters.
• Surface rendering has been accelerated by using modern hardware rendering techniques. On an NVIDIA graphics card of the latest generation, typical performance gains are tremendous, up to 70X.
• Many file formats are now loaded in separate threads, enabling multi-threaded data processing. This allows users to interact with the GUI or even start loading additional files while the first load is still in progress.
• Range and histogram computations are performed in a background thread whenever possible, improving data load speed even further in many cases.
• The Colormap port has been redesigned to include easy-to-use range sliders for setting the minimum and maximum of a data window, and a histogram plot drawn over the color map showing the voxel intensity distribution.
• Several new features are now available for the Filament Editor (Microscopy Option), to include improved line rendering on modern graphics hardware, enhanced 3D MultiPlanar Viewer, a node-segment stepping tool, and 3D graph smoothing.
