PhotoRescue is a tool that can attempt to recover lost or erased files from digital media. Many file formats are supported, but the focus is on digital photography file formats like JPEG, TIFF, NEF, Compressed NEF and CRW file. It works with SmartMedia, CompactFlash, Memory Sticks, SD, MMC, XD Cards and Microdrives but also generally most other external storage devices.

ITALIANO:
PhotoResque è un software specializzato nel recupero delle immagini da qualunque supporto utilizzato per il salvataggio dei dati nelle fotocamere.
E’ quindi possibile recuperare file dalle schede di memoria come SD, CF, Memory Stick, xD grazie ad un lettore di schede o anche collegando la fotocamera al computer.
La nuova versione offre una interfaccia più semplice ed è Universal per Mac, quindi supporta nativamente sia Intel che PPC.
