>>> Hackintosh Snow Leopard v10.6.8 Update <<<

The Mac OS X Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard
It includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac.

It also includes the Mac App Store, the best way to discover and buy new apps for your Mac.

WARNING:
PLEASE READ BEFORE UPDATING YOUR H@CKINT0SH

Quote:
Due to the incompatibility of some latest drivers (kexts), i.e. AppleACPIPlatform, IOPCIFamily, AppleHDA, IO80211Family;
a lack of system stability is being the main issue in the 10.6.8 update, which is still unsolved yet

If you're new to the HACKINT0SH (a NEWBIE)
and if you want to update it to the latest build,
then I could suggest you try the 10.6.7 update which is more stable than the 10.6.8

And with the 10.6.7 update, you can learn all the basic technical skills and knowledge
until you're ready to handle any technical issues when you decide to update your HACKINT0SH to 10.6.8

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!

Lightbulb Multi-Boot O/S (Hackintosh - Win - Linux)

@ Daelus
anytime mate

@ ALL

HOWTO: Install Multi-Boot O/S on MBR Partition

Quote:
The HAZARD 10.6.6i has no integrated procedure for multibooting
but preparing a multiboot MBR system with this release is easy.

Here is a ''How To'' for MBR triple boot including Mac-Win-Linux.

The HAZARD 10.6.6i DVD, Debian GNU/Linux DVD and Windows7 DVD installers are used in this example.

1. MBR (Master Boot Record) triple boot -

2. Nearly all PC's work on MBR partitioned harddisks, check it with Disk Utility, if so do no touch it. If it is GPT then you need to repartition your harddisk by loosing all the data in it. Click to partitioning options, select MBR and do the partitioning.

3. Create 3 or more partitions by using The HAZARD 10.6.6i Disk Utility or Parted Magic Live CD. HFS+ format for OS X target, Fat32 (ms-dos) for the others. OS targets must be one of the first 3 partitions creating with Disk Utility.

4. Add boot flag to Windows or Linux target and install the operating systems in any order you like.
+ For windows, make sure the windows target disk is the first preceding disk by your BIOS,
unplug the other harddisks if needed. This is a general windows issue.
+ For linux, do not install linux bootloader to MBR, install it to linux root.

5. Boot The HAZARD 10.6.6i DVD and install OS X to target as usual.

6. If Windows fails to load then you may need to repair Windows (win7 or vista) (mostly you will not face this issue): Add boot flag to Windows partition, boot Windows DVD, select repair, add boot flag to OS X partition.

7. You can also add boot flag to Linux partition to use Linux bootloader for multiboot manipulation if you want to.

Now you have triple boot on MBR.

NOTE:
Adding boot flag to MBR partitions using Boot Parted Magic Live CD:
just right click to the partition, then select flags and click to boot.

Talking AMD Dual-Core Optimizer for Snow Leopard

@ AMD users

For those who have the older series of AMD
i.e. Athlon 64 FX, Athlon 64 X2, Opteron (1st & 2nd - generation), Sempron X2, and Turion 64 X2.

AMD Dual-Core Optimizer for Snow Leopard
by: fumoboy007

History

Quote:
I have an AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor. If I boot into Snow Leopard as is, I get EXC_I386_DIV crashes across my entire system after a few hours. If I boot with the cpus=1 kernel flag, I do not receive the crashes but I lose my second core, of course. When I booted with both cores enabled, I saw a message in my kernel log saying I had an unsynchronized TSC (time stamp counter) so I deduced that that was the cause of my crashes. And it made sense since only after a few hours could the TSC become so unsynchronized so as to cause crashes (I don't know the specifics.).
After I discovered this, I found the VoodooTSCSync project
http://code.google.com/p/voodootscsync
I tried it and it synchronized my TSC at boot but I still got crashes! Then I realized that I needed my TSC to be synchronized constantly, just like the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer does for Windows users. So I took the VoodooTSCSync project and turned it into VoodooTSCSyncAMD.

What it does

Quote:
VoodooTSCSyncAMD is basically AMD Dual-Core Optimizer for the Mac OS. It synchronizes the TSC across all processor cores every 10 seconds. This is for Athlon 64 FX, Athlon 64 X2, Opteron (first-generation and second-generation), Sempron X2, and Turion 64 X2. VoodooTSCSyncAMD is essential to prevent EXC_I386_DIV crashes on these processors. I would like to thank the original creators of VoodooTSCSync for their efforts.

@ akintemel

how many storages do you have mate?
besides the SATA, do you also have any IDE storages attached on your pc ?

and if you're familiar with the LINUX/BSD,
could you show me the list of all the partition tables (including extended partitions) for all storages on your PC ?
by running this command:
sudo sfdisk -l -x
then copy the output and paste it to the text file
and please post it here

Even the HAZARD 10.6.6i also supports the AMD too,
but I still need to know the hardware IDs of your SATA/IDE controllers

so could you show me a pic which looks like this ?
