I had the same problem but finally got it sorted, here's what to do.

When you run DP 6 and it asks for Name and Serial number, fill the fields with your name and the serial in the text file, DO NOT CLICK 'OK'.

Run the 6.01 Update, make sure you have the disc in the drive or mounted in Toast, install v6.01, wallah it all works.

Use the 6.01 icon in applications from then on.

Everything works just fine!...thanks, Logic...I didn't even bother with the upgrade to 6.01...lol

I cant get the damn thing to work. I burned the dmg to a cd, copypasta'd the serial, and it keeps kicking me back to the serial window. Sk0rpi0n2k8's method didnt work at all either :/
