VPN as method to be anonymous

I am increasingly worried about Verizon and the government tracking what I do. I am looking for a way to surf anonymously. Clearly there are ways to do it, the group Anonymous seems to do OK at remaining mostly undetected. Is nVpn a good service/product? I wouldnt mind paying for a reliable service as I am worried about the intrusiveness of our government.

Well I am giving Gotrusted a try. Very simple process but speedtest results indicate that my down speed has been cut from 25Mbps to a little more than 7. I dont know as I can live with that.

Is there another alternative thats faster?

What are you exactly doing on the Internet other than downloading warez? If you're just doing that, I wouldn't be worried if I were you. Just avoid public torrent trackers, don't go over your bandwidth cap (if your bandwidth is limited), VPN is a bit extreme way to go if you're not hiding from someone in particular.

If you're really that paranoid, "StrongVPN" is currently the best you can find.

I personally have a Giganews account that gives me their vpn for free. They have many sites to pick from for the vpn. So not only can i get great download speeds from Usenet but I leave the vpn connected and im protected. Also the Upload host which doesnt allow people from the US on their site with the foreign vpn sites I can use them no problem
