Share whats on your mind...How can we improve this website and what other interesting topic would you like to see on our board? What are we doing well? What can we do better? | 01-11-2008, 09:25 AM | #1 | | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Last Online: Yesterday 08:50 PM Posts: 992 | thread renaming problem. first of all hello every1 ....my activity is low these days as i'm busy with my xams.
coming to the topic i've noticed that whenever i rename a thread title by editing it then the new title will only be shown when that thread is being viewed or opened but the new name will not be shown when viewing the forum,it will continue to show the old title.for eg today i renamed my thread aston v1.9.4 to aston v1.9.5,when u view the windows forum it will show v1.9.4 but when u open the thread it sill show v1.9.5.i hope u understand what i'm trying to say. so plx fix this little problem. thnx in advance. |

It is not something a simple user has a power to do, for obvious reasons.
If you want the title to be changed you have to report it to a mod to fix it for you.
Otherwise it happens as you mention. | | | | 01-11-2008, 05:56 PM | #3 | | Administrator Join Date: Aug 2006 Last Online: 01-03-2009 01:57 PM Location: Iran Posts: 1,695 | nice to c u again Solid | | | | 01-12-2008, 07:23 AM | #4 | | Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Last Online: 11-30-2008 03:43 AM Posts: 162 | Quote: Originally Posted by phillia There is not a problem as you mentioned it.

not a good idea, the user should have the power to edit his own thread, not let someone else that might not be online that much do it for him,if it is a simple mistake, like gramma,or wrong link, how is the mod gonna know what to edit? I dont understand the "obvious reasons", can you clear that up for me? | | | | | 01-13-2008, 01:15 AM | #5 | | Donator Join Date: Apr 2007 Last Online: Yesterday 02:15 AM Location: earth Posts: 1,515 | after u change it and try viewing it in the forum..you have to refresh the page..try that |

ok i didn't know it was under forum rules & i respect forum rules so now i want to convert this problem into a suggestion. why not give the users the ability to rename his thread. i mean if a user has the ability to create any thread with desired title then he must have the authority to rename his OWN thread. As luda said even i don't find any obvious reasons for forbidding users with this. why bother mods just for renaming threads(may be bcoz of spelling mistake). so this is my simple suggestion. plz reply & let me know what u think of it. | | | | | 01-17-2008, 07:33 PM | #7 | | Member Join Date: Mar 2007 Last Online: Yesterday 08:50 PM Posts: 992 | | | | | | 01-22-2008, 04:22 PM | #8 | | Member Join Date: Dec 2007 Last Online: Today 03:46 AM Location: Maine Posts: 779 | I would say because some of us users aint as good at this as the rest and we would prolly mess it up again..Me included...
best to let the Mods do it ..then it is done right..I know this makes the Mods work Harder but we will learn to do it right if we are told what we did wrong..
Just my opinion.. | | | | | 05-07-2008, 06:53 PM | #9 | | Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Last Online: Yesterday 05:13 PM Location: Pakistan Posts: 2,823 | yes...the user should hav the power to edit thread title...i agree with luda |
