MechoDL Page Loading Problem

I have had it enough....MechoDL is a gr8 site, but for 2,3 months now it has become quite annoying to open this site, first of all the URL needs to be refreshed 5,6 times b4 site can be accessed...I wonder y? is that coz of hosting service or what..I even tried openDNS but to no avail

Another problem is that while posting new threads " Check if already posted" button does not appear and i have to refresh the page again n again until it appears, this makes search such a PIA esp when u hav to post 20,30 threads/day..
i am facing this problem ever since site was overhauled by mecho

Can any1 plz do sumthing abt it? or atleast tell the reason for the above mentioned problems?

the reason for it is because there can only be 700 connections at once..
whenever more then 700 people try to use the site at the same time we end up with this problem..

and yes, it bugs me too..

700 connections for a site that has 100k members....weird

Buy a better server which accepts more than 700 constant connection, but we need donators help for that as these type of servers costs lots

yeah, i was having that problem also.

But look at it this way, there aren't 100k users that are active. Most people just register and forget bout this site.

Then you have those that just come here to download and then when they are done, they leave.

Then it comes down to the active members, the ones that keep this page up even tho they are not using it, they just keep it on and keep refreshing once in a while to see whats going on. This kinda annoys me that they just stay here and dont do anything.

700 in relation to 121K users..not enough at all
Its true that increasing connections entails high server costs but considering the growth of forum, some thing needs to be done about it

i noticed this problem few weeks ago as our visits and our other websites under mecho network is going bigger and bigger ! i'm really working on it !
it is kind of hard to get our second server ! it cost alot but as i said i'm working on it !

for now i just increased max user connection and optimizes some other few settings in server to see what result would be .

please Let me know if the problem will be less or u would not see any difference .

It seems a bit easier now. It doesn't take 5 refreshes to get on.... only like 1-2 now. thx mecho.
