Share whats on your mind...How can we improve this website and what other interesting topic would you like to see on our board? What are we doing well? What can we do better?
Why can't we have a link in our signature? Can't you set links to not be where users can click on them? I've run vbulletin for years and I believe there is a setting for this. I had a link in my signature for a several days and now all of a sudden I don't. The rules just change without warning and they went to disable all sigs???
To keep 'MechoDownload' alive please take a look at our sponsors.
the reason you were able to have it for several days is because we hadn't noticed. once it was brought to our attention it was corrected.
as moe said, if you code your links its fine, but live links are not allwowed. the rules didn't change. that's how its been since i joined this forum a year ago.. and i'm not sure how long it was a rule before that
Er ok why code the link? Seriously and this is just an observation but if you want to keep the server load down and this is the reason you have links coded it really makes no sense to not have them live. You have TONS of live links ALL over the forum in the forum software itself. I'm just curious why everyone thinks this is the way to go this is not the only site that says that so this is why I ask.
you should be reporting any and all that you find so that we can code them, because it's already been stated that live links are not allowed here..
I was talking about the actual links to forums and what have you not links in others posts or sigs. Just to be clear. Sorry for the confusion on that because technically they are all live links.

E.g.- you see a live rapidshare link in MechoDownload and you click it then rapidshare will know that you have visited them through MechoDownload.
Hope my explanation was correct.
Ok I think I see now. Its basically to keep anyone unwanted from coming back on you and keeping it harder for people to track you down.
