If You have newer player You dont need to convert them at all. Just burn avi files to dataROM (type/mode) and it should work. I myself used NERO to make AVI to DVD before I realase (ok, I was told) what it is totally unnessary. Test one and see if it works.

Sorry my bad english, it's still better than Your polish.
In my opinion, the easiest way, which is the one I use: Just get WinAvi Video Converter, I found it here at mechodownload, when it starts it gives you some choices, just choose: Convert your media files to MPEG/VCD/SVCD/DVD format. Then just select the movie you have in .avi, choose DVD output format, go into advanced and fix some options such as NTSC/PAL (I use PAL cause that's what players support here) and sound quality. Also keep in mind that if you have subtitles for the movie in .srt just have them in the same folder as the movie and with the same name (I think you'll need Vob Sub for this to work), in the Encode section of the Advanced options you will see the option Subtitle stream SRT(1) or SRT(2) depending on how many .srt files exist, that will be NONE if there's no .srt file...After all that just press ok, it takes about 20mins on my computer and then you can burn it on a DVD through WinAvi or Nero or any other as a DVD movie and it will play on your DVD player in the living room
One of the best is VSO ConvertXtoDVD to convert to DVD and you can use the built in Burn feature but you must turn off all the talk home features and also make sure that you are running a decent Firewall and you block it from talking home...
im using nero 7 or even nero 8 to burn avi file. since my dvd player divx mp4 i burn it as data dvd so i can copy 6 movies in 4.7 gb dvd cd....if u convert that avi file to dvd u can only copy as 2 or 3 movie in 1 dvd cd...just share it to you hope my idea can help you
well you you use a program Convert X to DVD by VSO. But that reduces the quality. What i do is burn the avi as a data dvd. And cause my DVD player plays Divx or my Ps3 i can play it like that with good quality. Does that help?
