dynamic IP?

How do i know if i have a dynamic IP as i was interested in a program that said it only works if you have a dynamic ip.

mate, i am not proof, but i have a cousin that have adsl with dynamic.. each day or .. 5 hour or somthing like that the ip changes... but me personally have just 2 ipz.. when i turn off my modem they to changes...

i have a dynamic external ip.
and an static internal ip for lan games like counter strike 1.6.
static ip does not change.
dynamic ip changes every time you shut down your pc.
you can find out our ip by typing :

Code:

ipconfig /all

on ms dos.
it will show your all ip configurations.

To be safe, you are supposed to turn off your pc, unplug it, then turn off or restart your modem. Then you can plug in and turn your PC back on. this way the ethernet card/wireless card will reset as well.
At least that is what I was told by my internet provider.
It does not change everytime you shut down your pc, that is why your supposed to turn it off.
My IP has remained the same for the past week or so, even though I turn it off and on a few times a day.
