Virus Help/ Restore Help

Hey Everyone.

I got a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge problem and I would appreciate if someone could help me. After installing a game and playing i turned on my computer the next day and it was just a bland screen. now if i push control alt delete i could do new tasks but there is no desktop everything is screwed up.

so i tryed to reboot/restore so then it says "hive file systemroot/system32/config/security/ is either missing or corrupt so i cant restore my computer.

what do i do? i realllllllly neeeeeeeeed help.

and the message comes up after the cd is recognized and i press "r" right after cpu restarts to restore.

i have a gateway mx3125

I think this is not a virus problem, "just" a corrupted registry when the Windows XP is booting. Check this link:

I think TommyLee73 is probably right thepersain1. Installing a game doesn't cause a virus infection.. Its probably a corrupt windows registry when your windows started to boot (I know it happened to me once, before)... Might as well check the link..

thats what i told phillia... the problem is not a virus... its just a Bug in ur xp... and , how do u know that it is from ur game! , maybe it is virus but how u know that it is from the game... its not possible... i think one of ur files have been deleted , or currupted..regards

i tried downloading the guide from the website but it keeps saying its not available. so how the hell do i do that manually??

okay so after i take my computer in and get it fixed becuase there is no way to fix it anymore.

a blue screen comes up with some german writing after a failed restore and it shuts off again. the blue screen flashes with teh systemroot/system32/config/security thing also.

so after this if i download kaspery suite for next time is it basically guranteed that this problem will not ever occur? because befrore that i did not a have a anti-virus?

any cheap places in denver colroado where i can repair this cpu? most places are asking for about 200? im looking for about 50.
