How to make bootable cd

Downloaded disk...shows NTI iso file icon on computer. Tried burning as iso file to cd, just shows as image of file on computer, cannot boot or use the program on cd.
How to burn to cd using Nero to make it bootabe and usable.

there is a option in nero to make bootable cd
i am using nero 7
also you can extract iso file using winrar and see files of iso inside a folder then write normally

princearthas..thanks for that information..didn't know I should extract with winrar. Extracted the iso...I'm using Nero 6, know it has bootable option. Problem now is the extracted files 1.29GB...When making bootable disc...Nero would make 2/3 disc to fit the 1.29GB of data??

did you try opening the iso using nero
use open->select the iso, don't drag and drop

yeah..used Nero's Make Bootable CD, open option..shows image CD..
steps I did:
1. extracted with WinRar...opened folers...files...over 1.29GB of data
2. How would I burn a CD with that much data?

Find xpboot.bin, google it.

I did find xpboot.bin how does it work?
My question is....with the amount of data 1.28GB, once I start burning cd, does Nero continue the burn with 2nd cd after the 1st cd is full

you need to burn that into a DVD, that much info is too large for a regular cdr.

the only prob is that you will need to have a dvd-rom on your pc to use that dvd.

OK..with that large amount of data thought after the 1st cd was full, would say to load another cd to continue the burn. End up with 2 cds of the program.
How do they make it work for programs that require more then one cd to load?
Example: Finish loading from the 1st cd..then say..put next cd to continue.

Like i said if you burn the files ex: (windows vista) the file on that ISO is too large to fit in one CD-R you need to burn that into a DVD-R (+ or -). and if the file is an operating system it would be a really big headache to try and install the operating system on a machine trust me i would not recommend this.

just burn the file into a dvd.

CD-R: 700 - 800 MB ( this can be used for most programs even xp pro,home, ect...)
DVD-R ("+" or "-" this format does not matter much you can use which ever you like ) ( this dvd can be used for burning movies that require 4.7 GB of space or for any vista operating system)
