Just to add more help... there are very important Performace Tweaks you can apply to Vista, to help you have the best Vista Experience. When I ran Vista... these tweaks helped alot.

Also... from what I've read...
Video card drivers are the main culprit for Vista crashes... outside Hardware issues. Unfortunately, until they get newer and better drivers we have to endure this crap!
My Advice would be to always keep your Video drivers updated.
... also keep your Motherboard BIOS updated. Gibabyte has a great OS BIOS update tool on the motherboard driver CD. Use it. You'll thank me later.
