Jabil Motherboard Help

I have a Jabil Motherboard Pentium III - 866-MHz [Part #2511656 .
I am unable to get this pc to bootup as the USB ports don't power up and it does not have the ps2 connectors for the mouse and keyboard .
It will boot part way and hang because of an error and without keyboard support I am unable to clear the error.
It is a gateway computer and before you suggest it I already tried gateway support.
It is out of warranty so they want $120.00 per hour to talk to me.
If anyone out there has any suggestions about this computer I would appreciate
your help..

ummm... forgive me for saying this... but why bother? it's older than my dad.

do you have a USB mouse and USB keyboard connected? if not, you are certain to get errors.

After looking up the board and seeing how it's configured... the only advice I can give is to go to the Gateway Support Site for this board and Update the BIOS. Since USB is the only interface you have available... you need to have a USB keyboard and a USB mouse.

what page did you find for the motherboard?? maybe I can find what I need there...!!!
already tried that they won't help, they won't answer questions without getting paid first..
are there any jumpers for the USB ports on the motherboard..
I have the usb keyboard and mouse and know they are good but the usb ports seem to be turned off..

Like i said... go to that page I posted. Click Driver Downloads...

... and start with the BIOS. Follow instruction in the download to the letter.

You don't have to contact Gateway to download the drivers.

After updating the BIOS and still your USB doesn't work. Perhaps look for something newer and more user friendly. From what I read about this board... It's a nightmare no matter how you look at it.

ps. The USB is not turned off per say... it's just not bootable from a fresh installation. Stupid Gateway usually has pre-installed device drivers on the HDD when you buy as NEW... and these pre-installed drivers work with the BIOS to help boot the USB ports properly. If you swap the HDD or reformat you could loss this information. Only thing is, I'm not sure how or where to find this and get it working properly. That's why I suggest something new, because newer systems don't do that kind of pre-install work any more.
