Slow Internet Download Speed

Hi I am an internet MTNL Broadband user from Delhi, India. MTNL provides me the speed of 256 KB/s. I got this speed for only for the first month when I subscribed for broadband. But now I get only 20-30 KB/s. I have complained many times and they say that this is the speed that I should get. It has been over 6 months now. Kindly advise me what to do or which software to use and Thanks in advance.

Google "internet speed test"... and test your speed to see exactly what you are getting compared to what your service provider says you are getting. Downloading a file with windows download manager or firefox download manager... may not be an accurate way of deturmining your speed. If the speed test is as slow as you say... Find another Internet Service Provider...
