Bypass Firewall, proxy

Hello Friends,
One of my friends brother has a problem.
At his office they use a firewall called Sonic Firewall which is a hardware firewall and not software, they also use their own proxy to connect to the Internet.

Thanks to that proxy he can't specify another proxy etc. So is there any way he can bypass the companies proxy and firewall.
The firewall is blocking some eBook sites and so he wants to know if there is any other way.

if it's a hardware firewall then i don't think that you will be able to get around it..
if somebody could get around my hardware firewall i know that i would more then bitch at the company that made it..
