G:\ is not accessible Incorrect Function

I successfully burned an ISO of Jedi Academy's first disk onto a Memorex CD-R disk.

It was successful as I said, but I am not able to explore or double click on the disk, I get that message in the title.

What's wrong and what should I do?

Give This A Try!!! 1. Go to the Start Menu, then click on Run...

2. Type in "regedit" and hit the Enter key or click the OK button.

3. Once the Registry Editor is up, navigate through the folders at the left (by clicking the "+" signs) until you get down to this location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Explorer

4. Click on that Explorer folder/key. In the right side of the registry editor you should have an entry/value called NoCDBurning. Double-click that name.

5. In the window that opens you will see a place for "Value data." A 1 here enables NoCDBurning, meaning you will have NO CD burning. This will definitely stop you from being able to use your CD-RW drive to write. So if you have a 1 here (as I did) then this may be your problem. Replace the 1 with a 0 to disable NoCDBurning, thereby enabling CD Burning. Click on OK.

6. Close the Registry Editor and Restart your computer And Hopefully You Should Not Get That Message!!!

Also If That Fails You Could Try This Go To My Computer, Right Click On The Drive, Go To Properties, Then Go To Recording Tab, And Make Sure That The Enable Recording Box Is Checked.. If Not Do So, And Then Click Apply And O.K In That Order.. It May Pay You To Do This First Before Going In To Your Registry!!! Hope This Helps!!!

Thanks, but I don't have either of those settings or registry keys.

I'm running Windows 2000 in case that changes anything.

Dose Windows 2000 have a device manager?
If so, then you may be able to check the hardware to see if there is an issue there.
Can you read this disc in another PC ?
Can you open other CD's in the drive in question.
It might also be worth using a different brand of blank disc and burn another copy to see if that helps.
If it's not a hardware problem and you just want to look inside the ISO then you can do that with one of the ISO tools such as PowerISO.

Could it be because I didn't do anything with it in Alcohol?

I DL'ed the file and it came with the .ISO's in them. All I had to do was extract.

What software did you use to burn the iso?
Did you "burn to disc" or "mount" to virtual drive?
Did you extract the ISO then burn?
...Or did you burn the ISO image as an Image?

Answer these to help narrow your solution. thx

I used Nero, I burned to disk, I extracted the ISO then burned, I burned it as an image.

Burning it "as an image" is why you are having problems.
An image file is similar to a photo negative, the idea is to use the negative to reproduce the original.
There are a number of different image formats and they should all be burnable in Nero using the "image burning" settings in the burning ROM department.

So what do I do to fix it?

Please, I'm a newbie at this kind of stuff and I'm plowing through all of this and failing. Give me a step by step list, because I've killed 5 CD-R's already, and I don't want to kill more.

Thanks in advance.

I placed this in a google search:
-How to burn a ISO Image using NERO
and came up with these:

Code:
http://wizardskeep.org/mainhall/tutor/neroiso.html
Code:
http://www.hiren.info/pages/how-to-burn-iso
Code:
http://www.weethet.nl/english/cdrw_usingnero_iso.php
Code:
http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm
Code:
http://www.bay-wolf.com/burnimage.htm
One of these should provide you with what your looking for.
