I think Rapidshare is the most reliable nowadays. It always was, but uploaders abandoned it because it stopped the policy of awarding them if their files were downloaded by many people. Some uploaders viewed it not as sharing but as business, to make money from uploading. That's why they were so p...d off with Rapidshare. But now it has proved that what Rapidshare did was a wise move, because other sites got busted because they gave rewards for illegal activity! The other thing is that RS is iin Germany/Switzerland, and Switzerland is one of the two countries (the other one is Holland) where downloading content is not illegal, and generally they have a much more relaxed attitude towards filesharing. That's why I continue to upload all my files only there.

Yep, makes sense to me.
I hope more posters use RS or other sites that are US-accessible. And being free is good too.

It's good to have multiple hosting sites. I think. So we wont wake up one morning like we did when Filesonic disabled the sharing option. Suddenly,
majority of the post here were useless. Of course we have to find the sites that are free and available for most users. And above all those who offer a good performance....This is just my opinion. My God! It's full of stars! ![]() Last edited by Piercevil; February 11th, 2012 at 09:45 PM. Reason: Horrible typos |

Pretty much every new file hosting service is made by people who are looking for quick profit and not for a legitimate business like RapidShare and MediaFire. Both of those file hosts are being used by companies and neither can be closed without some hard evidence that they support piracy and engage users to share illegaly obtained material. Even though I use torrent trackers most of the time, I'd say that the only reliable file hosting services are RapidShare and MediaFire. File deletion can be prevented easily, randomly named password protected archives shared in a place that hides the links from spiders/crawlers works the best.
Too bad that people do the opposite, they want their links found - and that's how they get deleted. |

I have to agree Frosty. I prefer mediafire and rs as well.
But there is this mirror-creator-thing and I like it very much. So everybody has the possibility to download from his/her favourite host. I like this... |

I've gone to a whole bunch of pages in the Mac Apps section, and virtually EVERY one has a link to Upload (ul.to), and it's absolutely awful:
1) USA users are blocked from the site and 2) even if you get in via proxy, the free file download option is disabled. Can we please stop uploading only to ul.to? Perhaps Rapidshare or Media Fire? Because it's kinda frustrating... |

rapidshare would be best, i havent been a member their in awhile but i can still click on a link someone posts and i can download it right away and fairly quick!
no more click this, click that, wait 60 seconds or more, click then, type this in and then wait. with RS its one click nice and fast downloading!
