Well my RS account was banned just a day after extending another 3 months of subscription!!!!
Has anyone here had the same problem? is this something new or has this always been like this? I only use my account for downloading movies or music. they say they will keep a log of my IP address and downloaded files. now, does anyone know if i can get in trouble if i open a different account? please =( |

I wasn't logged in when I first read this question and I thought it would be answered by now.
It sounds to me like you've had your account stolen and the email that you received was sent to scare you into leaving well alone. Get in touch with Rapidshare and tell them that your account has been hacked and they should sort it out for you. You can read more about these sort of antics here: http://tinyurl.com/ndrrg4 |

Thank you very much. I contacted Rapidshare and they changed my password. I really thought it was a real e-mail. I was really worried :S

You should take the extra steps to lock down your Rapidshare account. Activate the Security lock so any attempt to change the password has to be authorised by your email. Glad to hear you got it sorted though. It may help others if you post a transcript of the email you received from the hoaxer. That way if others search for a passage in the email they might get, they can quickly Google to find the answer right here. |
