Max Payne 2 Parameters

I am having some problems and I am not sure if it is Vista Related or the game installation, hopefully someone can shed some lighton this. I have installed Max Payne 2 on my Vista Home Premium and it seems to work fine, however I attempted to add a couple start up parameters to the properties of the shortcut the process appears to work - the game starts, however the parameters are not functioning in the game. Here are the specific's;

Game Max Payne 2

In the Target Box I enter --> "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Max Payne 2\MaxPayne2.exe" -developer

The last section is the parameter (-developer) I simply added it as instructed and the game does start however it does not appear to have been accepted, I have tried including it inside the "xxx" ("C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Max Payne 2\MaxPayne2.exe -developer") but this is not valid and I get an error message. I am not changing any other parameters or properties on the shortcut. This particular parameter is to allow access to the console and I have been able to install and use the game on the older XP nachine with the exact same modification (the old machine died a horrable death after 9 years of excellent service....) I know this is something used mainly for cheats of the game. I have finished the game once without cheats and now I want to play with cheats.

I tried this parameter in My friends' PCs and it works fine. One of them is using Windows XP and the other Windows Vista Home Basic. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium.

Thanks in advance...
