some downloads will not work for me

here is what I get when I open the rars

The.Wolfman.2010.DVDRip\The.Wolfman.2010.DVDRip.pa rt1.rar: The archive is either in unknown format or damaged.try it again get the same thing.
when I tryed dear john movie I got the same thing. am I doimg something wrong or is the downloader do something wrong.

the "part1" may indicate that there are more than one part to the file. try hjsplit if you are on a PC or AJoiner or Slices for mac to put the "part" files together.
