hey there 123king !!!! i hope this helps you out, i was in the same boat, obtained a laptop "gateway m465 e" nice little thing cheap too ! well it originally come with xp home, but some where down the line, one ran vista business and to 2nd party had no idea no serial ? no problem for me ? right, trial 30 days ran up no worry love xp wrong ! failed to recognize hard disk installed ? from the sata hdd that is installed win xp discs dont support sata hdd unless you get from factory/store. for me 2 remedies go get sata drivers from gateway site s but have to boot xp from disc then when prompted press f6 to install 3rd party drivers and such which you should have on a usb floppy (only 3 kinds microsoft compatable) go that way.. which failed for me 2 get a copy of free n-lite with drivers and whatever else your heart desires and it will incorperate them in right spots add or remove things to your liking ... make image ... burn image... boot from cd.......wowwww finally !!! back to xp .. so long .. but well worth it ! sorry so long.. im new and eager to help ! good luck !
