problem with my version of Photoshop

Ok so i recently got this version of photoshop which runs off of my flash drive called "Photoshop cs3 extended portable"... and the program runs fine..you can do all the features and stuff on it but apparently i come to find out that i can't save ANY files. It keeps saying that it can't save the file because it is an invalid file type or what not. I tried everything but i don't know why it can't save my work at all.

I Am Not A Photoshop Techie But You Could Try To select “Save as Copy” or to use the “Save for Web/Devices” feature.
