Actually, you are half right. an ISO image is a file extention that is made with making an exact copy of a CD or the Contents of a CD. An ISO image, or ISO file is kind of like an archive which can be extracted to see the contents within. It is not an image as a picture or negative image is known. It is the contents of a CD. Therefore, when you burn in Nero... you burn the ISO image as an image. If you extract the contents of the ISO before you burn the CD will NOT WORK.
In Nero... use the setting -- "Burn Disc Image or Saved Project". This setting is what you need to correctly Burn an ISO file.
