Can I do it by software?

Hi Mechodownload,

Can I ask some help?

I have a need.
PC Z share internet connection -----> to PC A
PC Z is XP, Internet Sharing Connection on XP demand IP as 192.168.0.1 so, the PC Z use 192.168.0.1, and so Gateway For PC A is 192.168.0.1

I have a PC B.
I want to share internet connection from PC A ---->to PC B.
PC A is XP SP2 and PC B is XP SP1.

How can I share internet connection from PC A-->to PC B ?
Can I do it by software?

Thank you for helping me out.

hi,
you never explained by thru which you are sharing.....,

As i know there is no software requires. if you really want software support, sorry to say i don't know.

OK, i assume that you know, if you have wireless LAN on both PC's, and you can do it on your own, when you are trying it with wire,
*) you must use a cross wired LAN cable, specific for peer to peer(ask p to p LAN cable)
*) connect it now you computer will automatically detect and i will show at least 100Mbps depending on your LAN card speed. If it says limited connectivity of no connectivity then you are not yet connected. during connection ip address and all necessary configuration will be done by your pc. it will be better to connect XP sp1 to XP sp2. until unless if there are the networking problems (bugs) in XP sp1.
*)Go to show all connections in start menu => right click your connection properties => go to Advance tab => check the box internet connection sharing. Thats all.

Thank you for quick attention, mohanatdesign,

Yes, I ask about software, it because I think a software is a solution and beside I dont want buying hub as an option.
But if you think no need other software, then let it be no further software searching.

Well, mohanatdesign, my hardware situation is :
My PC A already has 2 ethernet card.
Ethernet A2 on PC A connect to PC B with cross cable RJ-45.
My PC A received internet connection from PC Z.
Ethernet A1 on PC A receive connection from PC Z.

Microsoft tutorial says, that if I want to share internet connection from PC A (by checked the Share Internet Connection in advance tab), Microsoft says, that PC A must be Addressed as 192.168.0.1.
Microsoft says, this feature called as Microsoft ICS (Internet Share Connection).

The problem is, since PC A got internet from PC Z, which is PC Z has already assigned as 192.168.0.1; then I cannot assign PC A (ethernet A2 that connect to ethernet B on PC B) as 192.168.0.1 anymore.
As I can not assign 192.168.0.1 to be PC A IP anymore, so I can not use Microsoft ICS any more to share internet connection from PC A to PC B.

So, please assist me to solve this.
So I can surfing from PC B.

By the way, if you need screenshoot I can make it. But I dont know how to put picture in this mechodownload. Sorry I am really new in Internet.

Thank you, am looking for your reply.

soory ma... my exams are going on....

i forgot...

if you have a solution. it would better you post the solution so others can see...

as per my opinion select the network connection with internet and then the other p2p and give bridge connections so that there will be data transfer between the two Ethernet cards of same computer.

or go to Network setup wizard and create a new network setup specifying all you details as asked. it should work properly.

sorry man.

the easiest way to do it is with a network hub..
they are only about $25.00 at Walmart then you need the cable to hook them up..
that is what I do..

I use the linksys 5 port hub and you don't need any extra software to connect to the net..
a broadband connection is best ..don't think it will hook to dialup modem..

I agree with Knotty regarding the hub.

Saves a lot of time and hassle.

By the way a fantastic piece of software to go with it is Network Magic Pro.

It will also help to make setting up a network an absolute breeze.

Cheers,

Sarge.
