The idea of having reputation points is letting a poster know how the community feels about them and also to show everyone else if the user does good posts and is trustworthy. so that if you contribute something good to the community forum, help someone out, or otherwise genuinely do something worthwhile for the community, those who found it useful/helpful can increase your reputation as a way of saying thank you. If people are trading them merely for the sake of increasing their reputation points, there is really no point in having it at all.
Remember
Reputation points are a good thing to have, and it is nice to know that what you do is appreciated - but if you are
being given them because you ask for it and haven't actually done anything worthy of increasing your reputation,
it will only makes you look a kind of stupid.
The reputation points are only to be given to those who have a real reason to receive them. If someone helps you out, fixes a problem for you, or does something you like, then by all means, give that person a positive reputation point and a friendly thank-you note; but don't just go handing them out because you can, or because someone has asked you to.
Users gain and lose reputation based on how their posts are scored by other forum participants. Users with the ability to affect reputation, will either give or take aways points by approving or disapproving with a post's content.
In the above example, we have all of the levels that users on this forum can achieve. For example, a user with a reputation of
55 would have the level of will become famous soon enough. A user with a reputation of
-5 would have a level of has a little

less behaviour in the past.
How It Works: The Reputation Level Colorcodes:
- Gray for
- neutral reputation level, - Green for
- positive reputation level - Red for
- negative reputation level.
Rules For Giving Reputation: - Every user gives reputation based on their own parameters. However, not generally for the user, but ONLY for the related post. All reps that were given because of the fact that one simply dislikes the user will be deleted and the user who gave the rep could get a warning if done repeatedly.
- There Will Be NO Reputation Points Begging/Asking/Complaining.
Reputation can be given only if the user writes an additional comment. Reps without comment will be deleted and the points given will be removed. Only the one who was repped can see
WHAT was written about him. Reputation can be given anonymously which stops retribution, rep wars or someone posting negative about another member (you can, of course, write your name at the end of the comment).
There Will Be NO Retribution If You Give A Negative Reputation To Admin or Mod
We are working for the community unsalaried. We are here to help you, to enforce the rules, to maintain the community and not to hold silly grudges.
Reputation Factors:
Everyone starts with
10 rep and a
green reputation box to reward the fact that one registered.
Negative and positive rep cancel each other out.
The Reputation altering power determines how much reputation points you give to a user when you rep him. Because of that fact it could be that you have three negative and one positive rep and still has a green box because you got more points from the positive rep than from the three negative ones.
