Call of Juarez [Intel]




Description

Call of Juarez is loosely based on a number of Western movie hits from the last four decades, particularly the Spaghetti Westerns that became popular in the sixties and early seventies. The game features two different characters: Billy Candle, a young fugitive accused of murder and the Reverend Ray, an ex-outlaw who turned to religion, believing that God himself has chosen him to be the instrument of his wrath. He often presents himself as "God's wrath" and "God's right hand".

Billy's character provides stealth and sniper elements to the game. With his whip he can latch onto objects to get into hard to reach locations. Later in the game, Billy acquires a bow, which can be used for ranged stealth kills. Reverend Ray can enter Concentration Mode allowing him to hit multiple targets in a drawn-out second. Along with his other weapons, Ray wields his Bible and spouts fire and brimstone scripture while he blasts the enemy with his trusty six shooters. The reverend also wears a cuirass that protects him from all bullets hitting his chest. Some of Reverend Ray's levels will end in a quick-draw gunfight between him and a main antagonist in the level.

Fatale is an interactive vignette in realtime 3D inspired by the story of Salome.

Explore a living tableau filled with references to the legendary tale and enjoy the moonlit serenity of a fatal night in the orient. Fatale offers an experimental play experience that stimulates the imagination and encourages multiple interpretations and personal associations.

Fatale is played through first person 3D navigation but its controls were designed to minimize the risk of motion sickness. As a result, it may appear somewhat unconventional to the seasoned gamer.

how to play Fatale?

The Cistern: Think of Fatale as a role playing game. We will leave it to your imagination who you are playing. You find yourself in a prison. And the distant sound of music plays overhead.

The Terrace: On the terrace your experience is disembodied.

FLY: Clicking with the LEFT MOUSE BUTTON you can move forward. RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON lets you travel backwards. You will see things differently if you hold either of the mouse buttons down.

FLOAT: Use the MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON you float freely forward.

CONTROL: Hold down the SPACEBAR to bring up the "aureola." This is your inventory of scenes you can revisit and interact with. Click the letters to return to a still scene. If a space is blank, clicking on it becomes a hint to where you should travel next.

EXAMINE: The lights on the terrace invite you to block them out. From scene to scene, you have various options for interaction. Your cursor keys pan the view, click & drag allows for camera rotation, and sometimes rolling over or clicking items in these scenes can lead to surprising results.

EXPLORE: Above all, since this experience makes few demands, take your time. Notice the small details. Listen to the whispers and echoes. Therein, lies the joy. Allow yourself to fall in love with Salome, now you have all the time in the world.

The Dance: An epilogue which appears on restart after each complete playthrough.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl (Unofficial Port) Mac OSX (Mac Pro Intel)

For those unfamiliar with the premise. Stalker is set in the future, in an area called "The Zone", an area teeming with strange phenomena that puzzle scientists the world over. Phenomena which are likely related to the nearby Chernobyl nuclear reactor. Now the first thing I'll mention is that I loved this game, but there were a few things that annoyed me, for one thing the weight limit was pretty low and you got tired too easily for someone running for their life. Secondly, you couldn't buy ammo off other stalkers, you couldn't sell weapons to them either, now if I was surrounded by mutated dogs and bandits, I'd want a bigger gun. Thirdly, the bandits kept respawning, but the NPC's didn't, so eventually the bandits just take most areas over.

These are pretty big things, so I'll hold off replaying the game until I can get a mod to fix them. That and a decent enough video card to play the game at full detail, with bloom and everything. Beyond that however, Stalker's pretty much perfect, not only for the graphics, which are fairly awe inspiring, but mostly for the advanced artificial intelligence displayed by the inhabitants. They're not geniuses, but they're smart enough to behave realistically. Far more interestingly, they're smart enough to know when to give up and leg it from the roaming packs of mutated dogs that like to just eat wanderers.

Remember, they're only stray little doggies when they're alone. If there's three of them, they'll take you down if you're wounded. If there's a dozen or more, they'll take down anything that moves. More importantly, this relates to something mentioned earlier. Most NPC's aren't immortal, except for the story critical ones, even they however aren't immune from damage. Rather the game places all the character's meetings with them such that the player won't have an opportunity to kill them. Other NPC's however, are on their own. They'll be slaughtered by bandits, wild dogs or just walk into an anomaly and be thrown up into the air and imploded. This lends a feeling of realism to the world, it also lends a feeling of bleak pointlesness. Granted, not a bad achievement in a horror game, but it still sucks to have your allies, with whom you've fought off three bandit assaults, get slaughtered by a lucky shot or just by being overwhelmed.

Left 4 Dead is a multiplayer co-operative survival horror first-person shooter game by Valve Corporation. The game has been built using Valve's Source engine. Left 4 Dead pits four human playable or AI controlled survivors of an apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of aggressive "Infected" in a cinematic backdrop in which the players "star" as each character in a fictional movie (ie. No Mercy.) The Survivors' goal is to help each other make it through various scenarios to safety. The Infected are controlled by an AI that dynamically balances difficulty and mood depending on the players' progress and situation. In an alternate game mode, human players can control up to four mutated Boss Infected with special abilities and cooperate to stop the Survivor players.

No Steam unfortunately so you won't be able to play on all official and most (if not all) unofficial servers on the Net as they use Steam.
Both campaign and versus mode are tested successfully in multiplayer.
